Sheffield United have turned their attentions to Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall as Chris Wilder looks for new defenders.

The Blades boss is looking to add at least two more new players to the squad before deadline day.

There is increased speculation over the future of Anel Ahmedhodzic as well and at the moment, the Blades are looking at defenders in case he leaves.

And after a deal to sign Mason Holgate apparently collapsed over the weekend, the Blades are now considering a bid for Nottingham Forest defender, Joe Worrall.

Sheffield United considering Joe Worrall bid

According to TeamTalk, United are looking at Worrall as a realistic option even if Ahmedhodzic doesn’t go before the end of next week.

Worrall was a crucial part of the Forest team that saw off United to win promotion a few seasons but has fallen down the pecking order and there are murmurings he had fallouts behind the scenes when Steve Cooper was in charge.

It’s claimed in the report that Forest would be open to selling Worrall if the right money comes in.

The Reds are in a dire situation thanks to FFP and could be handed a points deduction this season.

Worrall was previously the subject of £10m offers from Burnley. It remains to be seen if Forest would demand such a figure again.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, need new signings and are believed to be close to signing Ivo Grbic.

Ben Brereton-Diaz has also arrived and he marked his debut with a goal against West Ham yesterday.
