Sheffield United’s wretched injury news looks set to continue with yet more bad news, this time when it comes to star striker, Oli McBurnie.

McBurnie limped off during the clash with Manchester United with a suspected groin injury and was absent as United got hammered 5-0 by Arsenal yesterday.

The Blades’ injury list is stacking up with key players like John Egan, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Tom Davies a;; being added to it in recent weeks.

And now, it looks like McBurnie is also going to be missing for a while.

Oli McBurnie to be missing for over a month with injury

According to Alan Nixon, the Blades are set to be rocked with news on McBurnie.

It’s reported that McBurnie will be now for a month until the end of the November, leaving United even shorter in terms of their attacking options.

McBurnie has become a key player both going forward and defensively for the Blades.

His absence will leave Paul Heckingbottom with just Cameron Archer and Rhian Brewster as recognised strikers. Ryan One got a debut yesterday, while new signing Benie Traore doesn’t appear to be fancied by the coaching staff right now.

Heckingbottom is fighting for his job according to reports, with Chris Wilder in line for a return.

Sheffield United News View: It’s just getting ridiculous

We’ve never known anything like this at the club. Ever.

It was bad during the first season Heckingbottom was in charge and then last season there were issues as well. But this year has taken things to a completely new level.

While McBurnie’s was a bit of a freak incident during the game, there is 100% something underlying here that is causing our players to be out for so long. It simply has to have an explanation behind it.

Crucially, McBurnie being out is massive for the team. He had become so important and we look lost when he’s not on the pitch in all honesty.

Looking back, the summer window was pretty dire, given we didn’t sign a player capable of stepping in for him.
