Sheffield United are inching closer to completing the signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Ivo Grbic, according to reports.
Grbic has been mentioned as the goalkeeper United have settled on since early last week and it seems that a move is now getting close to being signed off.
The Croatian international is expected to sign for around £2m and provide Chris Wilder with added depth and quality in the goalkeeping ranks.
And according to reports from Spain, the deal could be signed off and announced by today.
Sheffield United to complete Ivo Grbic signing
According to a report from AS in Spain, Grbic is already in England having flown over yesterday in anticipation of completing the move today.
That claim is further backed up by another Spanish publication, El Desmarque, who claim that Grbic missed the latest training session with Atletico having been given permission to fly to England.

All roads point to Grbic undergoing a medical with the club today and all being well, being signed in time for this weekend’s FA Cup game with Brighton.
It remains to be seen whether Chris Wilder will make Grbic his new number one. However, the Blades boss has insisted his new signings will be to make the XI stronger, so the Croat could well come straight into the fold.
Wes Foderingham has yet to sign a new contract with the club and that could also be affecting Wilder’s thinking as things stand.
A good move in a tough market
Should United get this over the line then it will be smart business in what is a very difficult window to do business in.
Landing an international goalkeeper from a club like Atletico will give United a huge boost and he should come with the presence and ability to make a real impact.
Clearly, Wilder has seen enough from his goalkeeping department to warrant spending some money on improving it.
Grbic, then, could well be given his first taste of action this weekend and what better way to be welcomed to Sheffield than in a cold, wet and windy storm at Bramall Lane.
