According to Sheffield United News sources, the delay in Sheffield United announcing the departure of Chris Wilder is down to interest from Celtic.
Our sources tell us that despite reports yesterday the delay was down to Wilder’s hefty compensation package that is due if the club sack him, that it is actually Celtic who United are demanding money off.
The Scottish giants are said to be keen on bringing Wilder to Parkhead and sources tell us here at Sheffield United News that the Blades are indeed demanding the Bhoys pay a big chunk of change to land Wilder.
While it cannot be confirmed at the moment, it would explain the slight delay in the club making any sort of announcement.

We reported yesterday that both Celtic and Crystal Palace were said to have expressed an interest in Wilder. And while there is nothing from the club yet, both of those clubs would make sense.
Palace could seek a replacement for Roy Hodgson, while Celtic are looking for a replacement for Neil Lennon.
Chris Wilder to Celtic with Sheffield United demanding more money
As if the waiting game isn’t hard enough for us Blades fans, this has just added an extra element to things.
In terms of if it could happen, it remains to be seen. But it would make perfect sense as to why there is such a big delay in any announcement and it could also explain why nothing seems to be getting done.
Our same sources told us just a few weeks ago that Wilder could leave in March. Therefore, it’s certainly something that could well happen in the coming days.
