Sheffield United appear to be inching towards a takeover from Dozy Mmobuosi after a number of updates in recent days.
After Friday saw Mmobuosi’s company Tingo publish it’s financial results – which were mainly positive – United fans were given a renewed optimism when it came to the potential takeover.
As we know, nothing is set in stone just yet and the EFL are yet to be fully satisfied in respect of all their questions.
One journalist who has been following and providing updates on the Sheffield United takeover is Osasu Obayiuwana.
Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
In the main, Obayiuwana has put a negative spin on things, insisting via his Twitter account that he sees no way the deal is going ahead.
However, taking to Twitter just now, the BBC journalist has revealed a phone call with Dozy Mmobuosi today and that during that call, Mmobuosi has once again reiterated his belief that the takeover will happen.
The EFL released a statement a few weeks back now saying they were still awaiting responses to certain questions they’d posed.
After Friday’s financial results and the fact we are now into April, United fans are hoping for some good news soon.
Sheffield United News View: Takeover saga needs sorting
Another month has now ticked by and while it’s normal for such deals to take time, United could do with something concrete soon.
On the field, Paul Heckingbottom is doing brilliantly with the team. But off the field, United have issues such as contracts to sort out.
Further, talk of a takeover and the constant back and forth of whether it will happen or not, is an unwelcome distraction.
Mmobuosi seems confident. And the update here from Obayiuwana is interesting. Mmobuosi also said on the investor call that he hoped to announce good news soon.
With the Blades continuing to do their bit on the pitch, answers are needed soon. Hopefully, the next week or two can provide the club with positive news.
