Sheffield United appear to have wrapped up the signing of Malmo defender, Anel Ahmedhodzic, with the Bosnian spotted on the Bramall Lane pitch today.
United have been trying to cement a deal for Ahmedhodzic this week and Yorkshire Live reported earlier today how a medical had already taken place. The Bosnian defender is set to sign for the Blades on a long-term deal, with United set to pay around £3m for his services.
And while no official announcement has come just yet, a photo doing the rounds on Twitter has Ahmedhodzic posing on the Bramall Lane turf and looking quite happy with himself. The image, shared by @Ventola_BHF, shows United’s latest new signing stood with the away end in the background. Proof, if anymore was needed, that this deal is a go.
Ahmedhodzic will become the third signing for United in the space of a few days. Adam Davies signed a two-year deal just last week, while Tommy Doyle had his move to United confirmed yesterday.
United are still chasing other names too, with Tom Lawrence and Jack Clarke both said to be on the radar of Paul Heckingbottom.
Our View: Ahmedhodzic Signs For Sheffield United, And It’s Just What’s Needed
It’s nice to see United splashing a bit of cash and it seems we have got ourselves a quality operator on the books.
A full international defender was just what was needed to join this squad. It gives United cover and competition in a crucial area of the pitch and shows the club do have some intent about them when it comes to winning promotion this coming season.
With a bit of luck, Ahmedhodzic fits in and adapts quickly with the Blades squad. He’ll be on his way to Portugal soon enough and that will benefit him massively.
