Sheffield United could use Arsenal interest in Sander Berge to their benefit.
Aside from landing a hefty transfer fee for Berge, the Blades could ask for a player in return. The Norway international reportedly has a £35m release clause.
The Gunners are now apparent favourites to sign Berge, who is expected to leave United following their relegation from the Premier League.
Football.london reports head coach Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are preparing to overhaul the squad at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
While most of the players expected to leave are unlikely to drop into the Championship, the Blades could look to their Under-23s squad.
One of the standout performers in the youth ranks is Miguel Azeez.
MORE UNITED STORIES
The 18-year-old midfielder made his senior debut in the Europa League earlier this season and is predicted to have a bright future.
Arteta is said to be considering giving Azeez more game time. However, if the Spaniard seriously wants to sign Berge, then United could definitely use that to their advantage.
Azeez plays in central midfield – an area where the Blades need reinforcements this summer.
As well as Berge being expected to leave, John Lundstram will also be departing when his current contract expires.
Will Arsenal sign Berge?

It certainly seems like the North London side are showing serious interest in the 23-year-old.
As part of a restructure of the recruitment process at the Gunners, Edu has asked scouts applying for roles to provide a detailed case study on Berge.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian is keen to link up with international teammate Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard is currently on loan from Real Madrid, but could make his move permanent.
But Arsenal will face competition for Berge. Elsewhere in the Premier League, Aston Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have all shown interest.
AC Milan and Lazio are also believed to be keen.
