Instagram is the place to be for many a modern footballer and Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie is no exception.
The big Blades striker loves to interact with fans on his social platforms and it’s one of the reasons some at Bramall Lane have a lot of time for McBurnie.
Naturally, there are those on the other side of that fence. Fans from a different generation might see it as pointless or distracting. But in the modern world of football, it’s just the way it is really.
Instagram and Twitter are also great for us as fans to keep up with pre-season and behind the scenes matters. Players offer insight and glimpses into training. The club also uses it well, with the content produced on YouTube often great viewing.
With the squad away in Spain for the week, Instagram has been flooded with pictures from bothn the team and players. And McBurnie has offered his latest update, which has caught the attention of a few big names.
McBurnie catches attention on Instagram
Never one to shy away from the spotlight, McBurnie had plenty of replies to the picture he posted.
Noticeably, the big striker seems to have filled out a bit. He looks stronger than ever, and with a bit of luck, he could well be key to firing United to promotion next season. Indeed, after just the one goal last term, there’s certainly room for improvement with McBurnie.
And McBurnie’s apparent ‘filling out’ hasn’t gone unnoticed among his fellow pros either. Tammy Abraham and John Lundstram were straight in there, as were a number of other famous faces. Here’s what was said.
