Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie has tweeted out his support and pleasure in former teammate, John Lundstram, signing for Rangers.
Rangers have confirmed today that Lundstram has signed a deal with the club until 2024. It brings an end to his spell at Bramall Lane, in which he helped the club to the Premier League.
Lundstram shone for United in the opening few months of the club returning to the Premier League. He bagged five goals that season, helping the Blades finish 9th and becoming a key man for Chris Wilder.

But last season was a different story. He refused to accept a new deal before missing a penalty against Aston Villa to set the tone for the season. Lundstram then failed to score, becoming a target for Blades fans.
His performances towards the end of the campaign were particularly tough to watch. His effort against Crystal Palace, something that United fans won’t forget in a hurry.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Nevertheless, Oli McBurnie has still taken time out to praise Lundstram.
What’s been said
Internally, it’s clear there is no big issue with the players and Lundstram.
Paul Heckingbottom even said before that he admired the former United number seven for his efforts. McBurnie, then, has taken to Twitter.
McBurnie is openly a supporter of Rangers. Clearly, he’s delighted to see a team he follows get someone through the door he knows well.
However, it will sting a bit with Blades fans.
More ammo
Not that we have anything bad to say about McBurnie. Far from it. But the fact is he just leaves himself open to stick here.
Some fans will inevitably jump on his tweet. That will lead to the odd nasty message, and no doubt bring up pointless arguments about his own contribution.
McBurnie might be better sometimes just doing his business in private, given the way he divides our supporters. Not that there’s a problem with publically showing support for a mate. But more to just avoid the haters.
