Sheffield United supporters love a good academy prospect and at the moment, with the latest ‘strategic vision’ mapped out by the club, it’s a good job we have quite a few coming through the ranks at the moment. One of which is the former Arsenal youngster, Sydie Peck.

Peck, 17, arrived at Bramall Lane in the summer and is already having a big impact on proceedings down in the Sheffield United academy.

Following on from a stunning free-kick a few months back against Bristol City, Peck has followed up on that fine effort by catching the eye again this past weekend. While Morgan Gibbs-White scored a stunner at first-team level as United won 3-2 at Cardiff, Peck did his best to usurp the Wolves loanee earlier in the day.

As you can see in the clip below, Peck takes aim from just inside the opposition half to unleash an unstoppable effort over the head of the Peterborough United ‘keeper.

Sydie Peck One To Watch At Sheffield United

What more can you want as a teenage talent? Catching the eye with a David Beckham-esque goal and building quite the reputation for scoring stunning goals from range.

Peck was highly-rated by the Arsenal fans and coaches. It’s little surprise, then, to see him excelling in the Blades academy.

Of course, there is a long way to go for Sydie Peck and others in the academy. But with Paul Heckingbottom and Jack Lester now firmly involved at first-team level, United’s youngsters will chomping at the bit. Over the years, the club has been a hotbed for talented young players.

And looking at the likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Femi Seriki, and Kacper Lopata ahead of him, Peck will be feeling confident of eventually making the grade at Bramall Lane.
