Sheffield United v Huddersfield: Daniel Jebbison starts after impressive cameo

Sheffield United take on Huddersfield Town tonight looking to break their own record for points in a Championship season.

Despite being promoted, the Blades will hope to continue their winning feeling with a victory over Neil Warnock’s relegation threatened Terriers.

Warnock himself has worked miracles to get Huddersfield within touching distance of survival. But he knows his side face a huge test against a confident United side who come into the game off the back of hammering Preston 4-1.

For United, it’s another chance for Paul Heckingbottom to give certain players minutes.

Team News

There are no notable absentees that we don’t know about already. Long termers like Rhian Brewster and Rhys Norrington-Davies won’t be playing. Their focus will be on the summer and next season.

There could, however, be some minutes on offer for Enda Stevens. Hecky confirmed the Irishman was ready to step in at Wembley if needed and he could be in the squad.

In midfield, John Fleck could start after scoring off the bench at the weekend. Likewise, Ollie Norwood should keep his place in the middle after doing well.

Up top, there’ll be a huge clamour from fans to see Daniel Jebbison start. The youngster did brilliantly after coming on against West Brom and could get the nod. ‘Jebbo’ could partner Billy Sharp, who is still in search of his 250th goal.

Predicted Sheffield United XI v Huddersfield

We think there’s no way Heckingbottom goes full strength tonight. The likes of Ndiaye, McBurnie, Berge and possibly Lowe and Ahmedhodzic could be given a rest.

Changes will be made without being too disrespectful to the opposition or, of course, Reading in the bottom three.

With that, we think there’s starts on offer for the likes of Stevens Jebbison and Fleck, while the bench could see the likes of Brooks and Arblaster included, even though they featured for the 21s in midweek.

Will Osula and Louie Marsh also scored hat-tricks for the 21s, giving Hecky more food for thought off the bench.
