Sheffield United v Blackburn Rovers: Predicted Blades XI as Jokanovic makes two changes

It’s another away day for Sheffield United today as the Blades travel to Ewood Park to face a wounded animal in the form of Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers were hammered by Fulham in midweek. The Cottagers stuck seven past Tony Mowbray’s men, and the former Ipswich boss will be expecting a reaction from his players.

For Slavisa Jokanovic and his Sheffield United team, it’s another chance to finally kickstart the campaign. The Blades once again threw a lead away in midweek, this time at Nottingham Forest. Jokanovic, then, once again has some selection decisions to make.

The Blades will be without Ben Davies for the clash with Rovers. Adlene Guedioura is now also missing for the next few months. Beyond those two, Oli McBurnie was left out at Forest altogether, while Sander Berge and Jack O’Connell are no nearer to returning.

At Forest, Jokanovic selected Rhian Brewster down the right. It remains to be seen if Brewster will keep his place. Iliman Ndiaye is on standby to come back into the XI.

Up top, Billy Sharp’s contribution could put him ahead of Lys Mousset this weekend. The Frenchman has started the last three, so could be afforded a rest.

In midfield, Fleck and Norwood are likely to keep their places, while in defence, Chris Basham will play alongside John Egan, with Jayden Bogle and George Baldock battling it out at right-back.
