Sheffield United could have key duo back to face Brighton this weekend

Sheffield United could be in for some good injury news for once ahead of the clash with Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

The Blades make the long trip down to The AMEX to face a Brighton side who have won rave reviews for their performances under Roberto de Zerbi.

However, coming off the back of another Europa League clash this week, the Blades might be confident of causing a bit of an upset on the south coast.

And helping United’s cause could be a return of two key players in the form of Oli McBurnie and Anel Ahmedhodzic.

Speaking about the pair in his press conference this afternoon, Heckingbottom has confirmed the pair are both back out training with the squad as we speak.

McBurnie and Ahmedhodzic to boost Sheffield United cause

While the team got their first win against Wolves last weekend and did so with a fine second half performance, there’s no doubt that McBurnie and Ahmedhodzic are two of our better players.

If fit, McBurnie is likely to come straight into the team. Anel has a bigger job on his hands in getting back into the XI but given we played George Baldock at right centre-back at the weekend, the Bosnian will feel he can step right back in as well.

All in all, getting players back from injury is going to boos Heckingbottom and United.

The news of Rhian Brewster being injured again is yet another blow so being able to call on McBurnie and Anel this weekend could be huge.

However, given the state of affairs and an international break coming, Heckingbottom will need to be careful over their selection. As he mentions, any sort of risk is just not worth taking.
