Sheffield United striker Rhian Brewster is set for more injury misery and will definitely miss this weekend’s game at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brewster has battled back from a couple of really bad hamstring injuries and went off against Wolves holding the back of his knee. Paul Heckingbottom confirmed at the time that it looked like a new knock and nothing too serious.

However, it seems Brewster is missing and injured enough to at least sit this weekend out.

Reporting from Paul Heckingbottom’s press conference, Radio Sheffield journalist Andy Giddings has confirmed that Brewster is indeed going to be out with what’s labelled a ‘new injury’.

Rhian Brewster faces yet more Sheffield United injury woe

What an absolute nightmare this is, again. Rhian Brewster just cannot catch a break at United and this is just yet another setback.

There had been flashes from him as well in his few appearances and while he was quiet against Wolves at the weekend, he is still a good option for the Blades.

Now, there will be nerves around just how long Brewster will be out for once again. The striker has had a nightmare since signing for around £20m back in 2020 and this is just another kick in the teeth.

Hopefully, it’s nothing more than a little niggle and the international break can see him back fit and ready to compete again.

If not, then it’s looking more and more like Rhian’s career at United might end up being a write-off.

We sincerely hope not and remain in the camp of having faith that he might come good in the end.

If he doesn’t, then quite honestly, it will be down to injuries simply derailing his progress.
