It’s been a winless start to October for Sheffield United and the Blades will hope to put that right against Blackpool this coming weekend.
United lost 3-1 to Stoke at the weekend as a patched up starting XI failed to build on a good start and getting back into the game at 1-1 through Rhian Brewster. The volley from United’s £20m man was one of few positives on the day and Brewster will hope to kick on now over the next few weeks.
And in what could also be a huge boost for Paul Heckingbottom this Saturday, The Athletic reports that a number of first-team players are edging closer to a return from injury. The report suggests Jack Robinson, Anel Ahmedhodzic, and John Fleck are all close to returns.
Those three, coupled with Heckingbottom saying before Stoke that there didn’t seem major issues with Jayden Bogle and Sander Berge, could see a much-improved squad available for selection against Blackpool.

United also saw Ben Osborn return to action at the BET365 Stadium, while there was a debut for teenager defender, Sai Sachdev.

Surely there can’t even be anyone else left to get injured at this stage. Anymore on top of the current crop of knocks will be a nightmare for Heckingbottom.
Thankfully, it does seem a few are creeping back. Ahmedhodzic is a big one, while Fleck’s return will add some much-needed depth to the midfield. Indeed, even a return for Jack Robinson could be a bigger boost than some might feel, given his natural left-sided position and the aggression he brings to the table.
Jayden Bogle is another player United need fit. With George Baldock out, Bogle will feel he has a real chance now to nail down that wing-back slot once again.
