Sheffield United are closing in on the signing of Brondby midfielder, Anis Slimane, according to reports from France today.
Slimane has emerged as one of the names Paul Heckingbottom wants to bring to Bramall Lane and it looks like a deal could be close.

Sport Witness run the report – citing Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna – who claims that United are now ‘confident’ of getting the deal done for Slimane.
The Tunisian international could cost the Blades around £4m, although there is no direct mention of the fee in this latest update.
Slimane is among a cluster of players in foreign leagues who fit the bill for the Blades this summer. With money tight, Heckingbottom and chief scout Paul Mitchell know they’ll need to pull a few rabbits from hats.

Sheff U News View: Time to ramp things up
The players are back in pre-season training now and it’s essential that United bring a few new faces in.
Not only to add quality to the ranks for a tough season ahead, but simply to freshen things up and bring a new dynamic to Shirecliffe.
Slimane is very much of the profile Prince Abdullah has spoken of us signing. A minimal fee for an international player who has a high upside.
Most fans will be happy if this one comes off. The task for United now is to make sure this is followed up with further signings.
