Sheffield United are aiming to sign a new striker before the new season starts, reports the Sheffield Star.
Following the signing of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, manager Chris Wilder has turned his attention to the other end of the pitch.
Despite their impressive return to the Premier League last term, Wilder was concerned about his team’s lack of goals.
Only three other sides in the top flight scored fewer than the Blades in 2020/21 and a new forward is being targeted to rectify that.
The right side of defence is also being looked at, with a new central defender and wing-back a possibility.

There are a few players being rumoured with a move to Bramall Lane this summer. That includes Ollie Watkins, who top scored in the Championship in 2019/20 with 26 goals.
However, with Brentford having a £25m asking price it is beyond United’s spending power. Aston Villa now looks like the most probable destination for Watkins.
Then there are two attackers who have been impressing in Europe. First up is Emmanuel Dennis, who plays in Belgium with Club Brugge.
Dennis has an asking price of between £13.5m and £18m, but there is competition in Atalanta. The Serie A team are prepared to meet the Nigeria international’s valuation and can offer Champions League football next year.
The other is Darwin Nunez, who fired Almeria into the Segunda Division playoffs with 16 goals last campaign. They eventually lost to Girona in the semi-finals and Nunez is expected to leave as a result.
Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton are also interested, with the latter said to have made a £10m bid. Benfica are also keen on Nunez.
Finally, speculation regarding Loren Moron has returned. Real Betis have apparently received a £12m offer for Moron from England, although Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also in the running.
