Sheffield United could see their hopes of signing Antonee Robinson from Wigan dashed at the last minute, with the Sun claiming that Fulham are ready to make a late play for the youngster.

It was hoped in S2 that terms were all but agreed on a deal that would see Robinson arrive for around £1.5m. However, fresh reports now claim that Scott Parker has made a move for the Latics ace and Fulham could be prepared to offer more in terms of wages.

If true, this could well be a bitter blow to Chris Wilder as he tries to wheel and deal to get the best from what is thought to be a reduced budget this summer.

We reported just earlier today how Robinson was open to moving. The Wigan man seemingly consigned to moving away from the DW and taking on a new challenge following the club’s relegation into League One.

However, Robinson could well be tempted by the lure of London and, of course, a slightly bigger pay packet.

Robinson has choices and this is something we will face all summer – Our View

You can’t really blame a player for weighing up his options and looking after himself. Robinson is a young man with a bright future so he’ll be looking at what is the best deal for himself.

In fairness, too, he may not even play given how good Enda Stevens was last season. Likewise with Fulham, though, who have playoff hero, Joe Bryan, as their first-choice down the left-hand side.

Hopefully for us, Chris Wilder can work his magic and talk up just how good a club we are at the moment. We have the advantage of last season with us, whereas Fulham could very much be relegation fodder.
