The 4-0 score line for Sheffield United against Swansea might have masked it, but we all saw it Ollie Norwood, we all saw it.
The brilliant Blades midfielder had a golden chance to get in on the act himself when he was left with an open goal after another Swansea mishap in defence gifted United a chance. But, with the ball falling to him a few yards outside the box and with time to steady himself, Norwood fired over the bar and into the deeper regions of the Kop.
Of course, it mattered little in the end. Norwood was superb all day again against the Swans and was integral to another fine performance from Paul Heckingbottom’s side. But not to ignore the matter, Norwood offered a tongue-in-cheek reaction to the miss following the game.
“Shouldn’t have missed that one like, I think it’s a bobble on the edge of the box,” Norwood said on the Behind The Blades YouTube clip this week.

Norwood is hardly Mr Prolific for the Blades. He’s scored just the six goals in over 150 appearances since his arrival.
However, he remains a key member of this Sheffield United squad and has excelled in Heckingbottom’s set-up in recent weeks.
Our View: Norwood Makes Sheffield United A Better Team
He has had his critics at times – perhaps unfairly – but Oliver Norwood has been and remains an integral part of Sheffield United’s midfield.
On most occasions, we seem to lack something in midfield when he’s missing. He offers for the ball even when he’s not at his best. And when he’s at his best, we see performances like Saturday come to the fore. His assist for Gibbs-White was a prime example of the class he brings to the table.
Yes, it would be nice to see Norwood on the scoresheet a bit more. Certainly, given his technique and the way he strikes a ball, it is surprising he hasn’t bagged more. But while ever he plays like he is right now, most Blades fans won’t care one bit if he’s scoring or not. Even if it’s open goals like against Swansea.
