Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder was in a positive mindset speaking after his Blades side lost against Liverpool last night.
The United boss stood on and saw his team put in a good performance to try and stifle Liverpool which, in the end, very nearly worked.
Ultimately, Liverpool’s quality showed and two late goals from Alexis Mac Allister and then Cody Gakpo ensured the home side ran out comfortable enough winners.
However, there was plenty to be positive about for United and Wilder.
Going forward, United looked a threat at times and James McAtee should have scored inside the opening minute.
Indeed, Auston Trusty then glanced a header across goal which was just narrowly missed by Ben Brereton-Diaz at the back post.
And speaking of Trusty, Chris Wilder had some special praise for the American, who has had a tough start in the main to his Sheffield United career.

Chris Wilder praises Auston Trusty
Trusty, of course, was up against one of the best wingers in the world last night in Mo Salah. But Salah was taken off after an hour, which is a testament to how well the American did.
And speaking about Trusty after the game, Wilder revealed he is a player that everyone believes is going to go on and become a big player for United.
“Trusty’s a young player, who we believe is going to be a good player for the football club. He’s got all the attributes, so, good experience for all of those. Good experience for Blaster, good experience for Brooksy getting on the pitch,” Wilder said.
Wilder went on to praise Trusty further as well in his pre-match presser ahead of Chelsea as well, where he praised the American for having two great performances against Mo Salah this season.
The Blades paid around £4m to sign Trusty from Arsenal in the summer. He has very much been a regular this season in the squad, playing across the back line.
While Wilder has branded Trusty a young player, he is now 25 and will go into next season expected to be one of the leaders within the group.
United take on Chelsea at Bramall Lane this weekend looking to build on three positive performances in a row that have not yet yielded victory.
