A lot is being made of young Sheffield United midfielder Oliver Arblaster as he continues to impress in his early Blades career.
After impressing with Port Vale before picking up an injury, Arblaster has been picked out by Chris Wilder as someone the club can build around for the future.
Arblaster recently signed a new contract and has since started the last few games for United, impressing along the way.
The youngster did not look out of place at Anfield last night as Liverpool won 3-1 in the end.
Of course, Arblaster is yet to experience the winning feeling as a Premier League player. But his performances are putting United in a better position to get that feeling, and with Chelsea at home this weekend, there is a small confidence about the place.
And speaking about Arblaster in today’s press conference, Wilder has admitted he loves what he sees from the midfielder, albeit he’ll be all over him if he slips off the gas.

Chris Wilder offers Oliver Arblaster assessment
Speaking to the press when asked specifically about Arblaster, United boss Wilder couldn’t hide his delight at the progress he’s made.
“No crystal ball but he’s in a good place at the moment. He’s got good people around him in terms of coaches and managers. I think you can understand what our attitude to him will be like, keep your feet on the ground. But he’s a level headed Sheffield lad so he won’t get carried away and if he does, I think there’s somebody not too far away who might jump all over him if he does. But yeah, listen, he’s had a great start to his career.
“There’s a lot of football in front of him this season and his career. A lot of things will dictate and determine his pathway. But he’s got off to a good start, he’s done a lot of things right and we’re delighted with him. He’s a popular boy and a talented boy and the academy can take great credit with the work they’ve done there with the coaches with him,” Wilder said.
Sheffield United have another wave of young players coming through right now with Arblaster leading the charge.
The likes of Andre Brooks and Louie Marsh are highly thought of, while others such as Femi Seriki, Jili Buyabu and Ryan One have all made an impression as well.
The future, it seems, is looking bright once again at Bramall Lane.
