Sheffield United’s prospective new owner, Dozy Mmobuosi, will make his first appearance around the club since news of his takeover emerged.

Mmobuosi is currently the subject of the EFL’s strict tests in regards to the takeover. The Nigerian has remained confident throughout the process, despite a number of claims coming to light to suggest there were some anomalies in regards to his finances.

Things seem to be moving along, though. And according to the Sheffield Star, Mmobuosi will be in attendance tonight as Sheffield United travel to Reading.

The Star’s ‘exclusive’ report claims that Mmobuosi will use the opportunity of United being Berkshire to go and watch his potential new club in action. It’s claimed he has some business interests in the area already and will be in attendance.

The report states how Mmobuosi has held even more talks with Prince Abdullah in recent days. He is said to have set out his business plans for running the club. He’s also told the EFL he will answer more questions if required as well.

It will be the first time Mmobuosi has been in attendance since reports of his bid came to light. Whether or not he makes himself known to Paul Heckingbottom and the players, remains to be seen.

Sheffield United News View: Heckingbottom won’t want distractions

While it’s great to see Dozy Mmobuosi clearly moving forward with his plans, tonight is all about three points for Sheffield United.

Paul Heckingbottom will not want Mmobuosi’s presence to be any cause for distraction. Sure, if we get a good result there might be a chance for him to go and introduce himself. But Heckingbottom is likely to not want any of that before the game.

However, on the whole, this seems like a positive step. And with contract issues to sort, it’s imperative for United to get things sorted at the top level.
