Sheffield United Takeover: Dozy Mmobuosi says it's his money he's buying the club with

Dozy Mmobuosi has been giving another interview after his stint on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE channel yesterday, this time with CNN.

Being interviewed by respected English football journalist Darren Lewis, Mmobuosi once again tried to answer tough questions on finances and his own businesses. And once again, he appeared to come across confident and calm.

Mmobuosi had given a wide ranging interview to Ferdinand yesterday. However, he didn’t really get to the crux of the matter in terms of how he’d finance the purchase of the club.

And on CNN, Darren Lewis tried to get more from Mmobuosi on that subject, asking him how he’s financing the deal.

“I’m bidding by myself. It’s my money and I have actually made a deposit. But I would expect myself and the club to issue a joint statement that would have details concerning how much. But I have made a deposit and that shows my seriousness,” Mmobuosi said.

The Nigerian still didn’t divulge into how the finances would be put in place. However, he seems adamant the money is there, as he once again invited all the questions from the EFL.

He also spoke on the Tingo Airlines story, downplaying the stories in The Athletic this week as it simply being a failed business venture started before Covid.
