Sheffield United strker, David McGoldrick, has admitted that Chris Wilder will get himself a big job and that Celtic would be a good fit.
McGoldrick’s now former manager is looking for a new job in football after leaving the Blades ten days ago in a turbulent weekend for the club.
Since then, United have lost to Leicester and Chelsea, conceding seven and failing to score.
Wilder signed McGoldrick on a free transfer. Often regarded by Blades fans as one of Wilder’s best ever signings, ‘Didzy’ is a firm fan favourite and is the top scorer this term, with seven goals.
And speaking to Talksport yesterday, McGoldrick believes his former boss would be fine if he was offered the Celtic job.
“I’m sure he’ll get a big job somewhere.Celtic need someone to go in there with big ideas. Wilder will go in there with his own ideas.
“He would change that club. He’d get the boys playing for them.”
Wilder is said to be one of the favourites to land the Celtic job, something we broke as an exclusive report a few weeks back prior to his Blades departure.
McGoldrick tips Wilder for Celtic, and rightly so
There’s not a chance any of this squad is going to criticise Wilder in anyway, so it’s not surprise to see McGoldrick back his former manager.
Celtic would be a very interesting course of action for Wilder. It would be a huge challenge. Not only in managing a top European club with huge expectations but in the fact the head to head with Steven Gerrard is intriguing.
Wilder won’t be short of job offers, regardless. West Brom are another side said to be keen. Crystal Palace are also being touted as potential suitors.
