Chris Wilder is set to return as Sheffield United manager with the club preparing to sack Paul Heckingbottom later today.
Wilder has been out of work since leaving Watford but looks set to get another crack at working for his boyhood club after leaving a few seasons ago.
The boyhood Blade led United to the Premier League in 2018/19 and then subsequently pulled the Blades to ninth in his first season.

However, things went sour in the second year in the PL and a fallout with Prince Abdullah led to Wilder leaving the club.
But there’s a belief he has patched things up with the Blades owner and Wilder is now set to have another crack at getting United to start being competitive again.
And according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Wilder has now agreed a return to Bramall Lane.
Chris Wilder set for Sheffield United return
Wilder is all set to come back to the club and could even be in charge for the game with Liverpool on Wednesday.
With Heckingbottom, it remains to be seen if Stuart McCall, Mark Hudson and Jack Lester will also leave the club.
The Blades boss saw his side capitulate this weekend at Burnley and in turn, he then criticised some of his players for their performances at Turf Moor.
The United gaffer has been dealt a tough hand at Bramall Lane and saw star man Iliman Ndiaye sold in the summer to completely ruin his preparation for the Premier League.
Sander Berge was also sold, while a number of Heckingbottom’s own signings have simply not produced.
