Billy Sharp explains how the new signings have settled in following Dubai break

Billy Sharp has spoken about the Blades’ new signings and insisted they have all settled in well during their week in Dubai.

The Blades headed off for some warm-weather training following their 2-1 win over Bournemouth. That result propelled United into fifth in the Premier League at the time, with talk of Europe now a very real possibility.

Chris Wilder’s men endured a busy January both on and off the field. They progressed in the FA Cup as well as climbing the Premier League table, while Wilder also moved to bring in five new signings.

Jack Robinson, Jack Rodwell, Panos Retsos, Richairo Zivkovic, and Sander Berge all arrived at Bramall Lane. Blades fans have had glimpses of Robinson and Rodwell and Berge has started the last two.

And Sharp says that all the new signings have settled in well during the week away with the squad.

“Yeah they’ve been brilliant. All integrated very well. Must be hard for the foreign lads coming in especially“, Sharp said. (SUFC Twitter)

“But I’ve spoken to them all individually and they’re all enjoying their part of the journey so far”.

While Berge has been given his chance, it’s been a different story for Retsos and Zivkovic. However, the Greek defender was on the bench against the Cherries.

Zivkovic, meanwhile, appears to have been putting in some extra work in training. This was something we picked up on, here.

A good week all around

A trip to Dubai is not something many of the Blades squad will be used to. However, times have changed at Bramall Lane and United are now well amongst the Premier League furniture.

It seems good, then, that the trip has been productive. The training side of things takes care of itself but small things like squad integration should not be overlooked either.

Sharp goes on to say how good the week away has been in the interview. Hopefully, there will be no hangover when the Blades entertain Brighton this weekend.
