Sheffield United fans are yet to get a glimpse of Richairo Zivkovic after he joined the club on loan during January.
The former Ajax man will, no doubt, take some time to adapt to the English game. After arriving from China, Zivkovic will be hoping to make an impression and be given a chance by Chris Wilder soon.
Wilder has, so far, opted to go with his tried and trusted in both the first XI and on the bench. That’s meant starts for Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp, while Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick have both been on the bench.
However, in footage from the club’s official Twitter account, it appears Zivkovic could be heading towards being picked.
Zivkovic is seen putting in some extra training on his own during the Blades’ trip to Dubai. While this could be normal for the forward, it could also indicate the club are putting extra work in to try and bring him up to speed ASAP.
The 23-year-old was brought in to add more pace to the squad. Alongside Lys Mousset, Zivkovic is now one of two attacking options in the Blades ranks who possess genuine speed.
His time will surely come
There is no way Chris Wilder brought in a player of this calibre to simply let him sit out of the squad.
It makes sense that the club take their time with Zivkovic. But at some point, he will get his chance in the first-team. Granted, both Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp have been in fine form of late. However, Zivkovic will offer something completely different.
Therefore, it’s nice to get an insight into what the club is doing with the striker. These sorts of clips are few and far between.
If Zivkovic can manage to piece things together and get up to speed then United could well have an ace up their sleeves in the final months of the campaign.
