'Big': Aaron Ramsdale reacts to former teammate's huge Sheffield United moment last night

Wes Foderingham produced a moment to savour at Bramall Lane last night as Sheffield United saw off Blackburn Rovers in dramatic fashion in the Championship.

Ben Davies was the hero in injury time as he side-footed in knockdown from Jack Robinson to send the Kop and the rest of The Lane as wild as it has been for years. It was another statement win from United, who cemented themselves in the top six race and showed they can win against the odds.

But kudos must go to Foderingham in goal. He produced an outstanding reaction save from a deflection off of Oli Norwood, and also turned up big for the Blades when saving Reda Khadra’s penalty. ‘League One Wes’ as he’s affectionately known has certainly put his stamp on proceedings with United.

And the goalkeeper’s union was out in full force as his former teammate and now current Arsenal stopper, Aaron Ramsdale, sent a message to Foderingham regarding his game changing moment. Clearly still taking a vested interest in United, Ramsdale took to his Instagram page to laud Foderingham’s moment in the spotlight.

Ramsdale himself has been in fine form for Arsenal but worked closely with Foderingham last season and for part of this. Obviously, the England stopper shared a decent enough relationship with the Blades number one to post such a comment.

Our View: Foderingham Showing His Worth Every Week

The United star said himself after the game that he hasn’t had a lot to do in recent weeks but when he has had to come to the fore, he has produced.

Last night felt massive. For Foderingham, Paul Heckingbottom, and Sheffield United football club as a whole.

Foderingham’s save completely galvanised Bramall Lane and while we’d have taken a point in the end and been happy with it, there was always a suspicion we’d sneak the winner. And thanks to Foderingham, we were in the position to do so.
