‘A disgrace’…Alan Shearer slams Sheffield United in another embarrassing low for Prince Abdullah

Alan Shearer has ripped into Sheffield United’s players after they were hammered against Burnley yesterday.

The Blades once again put in a dismal performance at Turf Moor as the Clarets ran riot and hammered five past a hapless Wes Foderingham in the United net.

Matters were compounded by a sending off for Oli McBurnie as well. The Blades number nine was branded an idiot by Chris Sutton while Paul Heckingbottom admitted he’d let him down.

And speaking on MOTD last night, Alan Shearer went further as he labelled the entire team a ‘disgrace’.

Alan Shearer says Sheffield United were a disgrace against Burnley

Speaking on MOTD alongside Gary Lineker, Shearer did not hold back.

“I mentioned Sheffield United. If you’ve got a team that you’ve been beaten in a game and you’ve had the right attitude and you’ve given everything, you say ok fair enough, and the fans accept that and the manager accepts that. Today, they were a disgrace. From the very first minute they lost three tackles. Three tackles within three or four seconds. And that’s summed them up. Also, the manager says too many players let them down, in particular, when they got the red card,” Shearer said.

Shearer is right in scathing assessment

How do you even argue against that comment?

As a Sheffield United fan, this season is embarrassing and seeing the club become a laughing stock is harder to take than simply losing games.

The lack of effort and desire from the players is really concerning and once again, we’ve ruined a chance at cementing ourselves as a Premier League club.

Yes, it falls on the manager in terms of on the pitch. But it also falls higher up as well, with this non-existent current owner and chairman nowhere to be seen and seemingly following a plan to get out of the club while putting zero investment back in.

United need a change from top to bottom. Prince Abdullah needs to sell up. Paul Heckingbottom needs to leave. And we need a clear out of this group of players.
