Predicted Sheffield United XI at Hull: Jokanovic makes four changes

Sheffield United make the short trip across Yorkshire today as Hull City are the latest opponents standing in the way of Slavisa Jokanovic’s men.

Last weekend’s 6-2 win over Peterborough was a huge moment in the season for the Blades. However, a late sucker punch at the hands of Preston in midweek has left a sour taste in the mouth.

But, backed by a 4,000 strong following in Hull today, United will be looking to climb the table with a win against an out of sorts Tigers side.

Form

Hull have failed to score since the opening day of the season when they smashed in four against Preston. Like United, defending has also been an issue, with the Tigers shipping nine goals so far.

For Jokanovic’s side, a win or draw would make it four games without defeat and given the new boss a firm platform to build on. However, he knows three points are a must if the Blades do harbour promotion hopes.

Jokanovic has Ben Osborn back following illness and he should come straight into the starting XI after missing out against Preston.

Ben Davies is likely to still be missing, which means Jokanovic faces a big call in the centre of defence. Jack Robinson made another mistake in midweek, and Chris Basham could well replace him.

Enda Stevens is back in training but unlikely to replace Rhys Norrington-Davies as yet. Beyond that, both Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick are still a few weeks away from full fitness.

Up top, Billy Sharp is in form but Oli McBurnie and Rhian Brewster could both get a start. Sander Berge could also play, with Iliman Ndiaye in line for a rest after cramping up in the last two games.

Here, then, is how United could line up against Hull today, with as many as four changes.
