Sheffield United are interested in signing Bristol City youngster Antoine Semenyo, according to TEAMtalk.
However, they’re not the only ones keen on Semenyo. Crystal Palace are said to be leading the chase.
A host of other clubs are also in the mix. This includes Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Southampton, West Ham United and Watford.
Semenyo is a product of the youth system at Ashton Gate and has truly broken into the Robins first team this season. It follows loan spells at Newport County and Sunderland.
The 21-year-old has played 43 times in all competitions so far in 2020/21, scoring five goals.
Having previously been scouted by Manchester United at the age of 18, Semenyo now appears to be close to a Premier League move.
What Antoine Semenyo interest suggests for Sheffield United
It would be a surprise if the Blades were to win the race to sign Semenyo with so many established top flight sides interested.
The South Yorkshire team are currently bottom of the table and likely to be back playing in the Championship next term.
Semenyo is almost certain to be more attracted to those who can offer Premier League football.
Yet if this interest is true, then it could signal a change of tactics is on the horizon at Bramall Lane.
During almost five years with Chris Wilder as manager, United almost exclusively played a 3-5-2 formation. There were slight variations, but one position that was never fielded is a winger.
Which is where Semenyo largely plays. The youngster has the ability to operate on either flank, or as a centre forward.
With Wilder no longer in charge, perhaps we finally see genuine wingers returning to the Blades.
