'Take a bow': Oli McBurnie lauds Phil Jagielka after Manchester United win

Remarkably, Sheffield United won out against Manchester United this evening, coming out 2-1 winners at Old Trafford.

A Kean Bryan goal and a second from Oliver Burke were enough for the Blades to pick up a second win of the season. Burke’s goal coming after Harry Maguire had headed the Red Devils level.

But the Blades were resolute and dug deep to win the game. And in all honesty, Manchester United rarely troubled a defence expertly marshalled by the experienced Phil Jagielka.

And Oli McBurnie, who remains injured, was quick to take to Twitter to sing the praises of Jagielka following the game.

Jagielka stepped in for the suspened John Egan and put in quite the shift.

Indeed, the experienced defender won the man of the match award from BT Sport’s Chris Sutton during the game, such was his performance.

It was a night when the Blades needed heroes and boy did they get them and none more so than Jagielka.

The words from McBurnie will echo the thoughts of most Blades fans, who can go to sleep safe in the knowledge that the fight is very much still alive and kicking in their beloved Blades.
