Sheffield United fans have been expressing their dismay after reports suggested that Jack O’Connell will miss the majority of the new season.
There have been fears that O’Connell’s career might be cut short. But for now, it’s looking at least like he has a chance of coming back. Albeit, not any time soon.
Manager Slavisa Jokanovic had already confirmed that the defender wasn’t part of his pre-season plans. The Serbian is preparing for life without O’Connell, who was integral under Chris Wilder.
And today, Yorkshire Live confirmed that O’Connell has indeed undergone another operation, as per a message from the club.

“Jack has had a further operation and we are hoping for a speedy recovery,” was the message from the club, per YL.
Naturally, Blades fans have been giving their thoughts on the situation, and it’s safe to say it’s gone down like a lead balloon.
