David McGoldrick still earnt plenty of praise for his performance yesterday, despite a horror miss at the Amex Stadium.
The Blades striker is still yet to score this season. But, he had a golden opportunity yesterday. McGoldrick found himself one on one with Matty Ryan and did the right thing in taking it round him. However, to his dismay, he saw his left-footed effort roll against the side-netting and the score remain 1-0.

It was a nightmare moment for McGoldrick. The striker also missed a chance later on in the second period, albeit a more difficult opportunity.
The former Ipswich man is loved by Blades fans. Indeed, the majority are now desperate for him to score and get the proverbial monkey off his back in front of goal.
However, despite the miss, McGoldrick still put in another excellent display. His overall game, work-rate, and selfless play was once again firmly on show for the Blades.
The fans are still with ‘Didzy’ too. The loyal away support still chanted his name until the end.
Twitter, too, was awash with comments still praising McGoldrick following the game. The Blades fans, seemingly desperate to see their number 17 finally get his first Premier League goal.
Running out of superlatives for David McGoldrick.

David McGoldrick is quality though. Would want him in my team seven days a week. Always puts in a huge shift too. Hopefully it's a matter of (short) time before one goes in the onion bag for him.

David McGoldrick ran the show today, should’ve scored but overall looked class today. Our worst performance of the season but we go again.

Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to see a player score for us as much as I do McGoldrick right now. Imagine the noise when he finally breaks his duck hopefully in front of the Kop…it’ll be emotional

Our view
Like so many fans, never have we wanted a Sheffield United player to score so much. David McGoldrick could be on his way to being the player of the season but without hitting the net. Such has been the quality of his displays.
He was brilliant yet again today. Calm on the ball, a threat from deep, and the usual hard work epitomised all he is about.
There’s little doubt the Blades are a better side with McGoldrick involved. But for a John Lundstram toe at Spurs, we’d not even be having this discussion.
David McGoldrick might have suffered a horror miss, but rest assured, his time is coming for the Blades.
