Sheffield United will be without Liverpool loanee Ben Davies when they travel to Nottingham Forest tomorrow evening.
It’s another bitter blow for the Blades and Slavisa Jokanovic. Despite a leaky defence, Davies was forming a partnership with John Egan. Now, the Blades boss must look to his squad to find a suitable replacement for the trip to Forest.
The obvious choice, is Jack Robinson. He’s left footed, has played there before, and brings natural balance to the back four. However, the former Forest man has not always been the most reliable.
But one man who can almost call himself Mr Reliable, is Chris Basham. And in our opinion, the experienced Sheffield United star needs to start at Forest tomorrow.

Needed
It’s safe to say this Sheffield United team needs a bit of a lift at the moment after another disappointing Saturday. Bramall Lane is becoming a real sticking point this season, and results have been poor overall.
At times, the pace at which United play has been lacklustre. Further to that, when we do go a goal behind, there is a distinct lack of urgency. In fact, the team almost looks beaten as soon as a goal goes in.
But that is where a Chris Basham can help. Not only does he have the experience needed to just slot into the side. But he’s also one of the players still desperate to do well. Everyone knows he cares, and a lot of the time, that’s what Blades fans want to see.
We see it with Ben Osborn. At times, he might lack the quality some wingers in the division have. But he puts in the graft, and Bramall Lane appreciates him for it. Basham is of similar ilk.
It will be a tough night against a rejuvenated Forest side under Steve Cooper. The likes of Johnson, Mighten, and Lolley can cause big issues, while Lewis Grabban remains a threat.
Bringing Basham in, then, is the sensible and logical call for Slavisa Jokanovic.
