Yesterday marked a day known very well by Sheffield United fans and a certain Richard Stearman. It was the day the term ‘getting Stearmanned’ was born.
Celebrating promotion to the Premier League, Stearman led celebrations at the Copthorne Hotel at Bramall Lane. His celebration became iconic among United fans, with his legendary ‘drunken stumble’ and pint over the head the stuff of legend in S2.
Stearman played a crucial role that season in helping United to the Premier League. A vital squad member who epitomised everything good about Chris Wilder’s team, the former Wolves man was all about the team first.
And it seems Stearman hasn’t forgotten that day (well, most of it anyway), as he took to Twitter yesterday to send a message to Blades fans.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
A much loved character on and off the field it seems, Stearman’s tweet didn’t lack replies from both United fans and players.
Here’s a look at what was said in reply to Stearman, as the likes of Billy Sharp and John Egan got involved among the usual fan replies.
Richard Stearman, we salute you. What a hero.
🤣🐐
