Middlesbrough boss, Jonathan Woodgate, has stated how he is under illusions when it comes to whether Ravel Morrison will be a success at the club in the coming months.
The Boro boss brought in Morrison this week on a deal until the end of the season. After starting just a handful of times in the cup for the Blades, the former Man United and Lazio man was always likely to move on.

Woodgate, then, is the one who has decided to take a punt on Morrison. And despite recognising his past reputation, the Boro boss is confident he can get the best from his new man.
“I just think he’s an absolutely outstanding player, and I think we can get the best out of him,” Woodgate said. (Northern Echo)

“People say he’s had issues, but who hasn’t had issues? I’ve had a few myself. It doesn’t concern me one little bit.”
Morrison has, so far, failed to fulfil his massive potential. At Manchester United, he was touted by Alex Ferguson as one of the most talented players he’d ever come across. However, multiple moves have now failed to yield success.

But Woodgate is adamant he is the man to turn things around for Morrison, adding:
“Sometimes the press portray you in the wrong way, and I think that’s happened with Ravel. Listen, we all mistakes, I’ve done that myself. But he’s a good kid, a good lad. He’ll fit right into the dressing room and I’m really pleased to have him”.
A perfect move
If the noises Woodgate is making are anything to go by, then this could be the time for Ravel to shine.
Things haven’t worked out at Sheffield United for him for multiple reasons. However, the time is now if he wants to show everyone what he is capable of.
The Middlesbrough boss sounds like he has 100% trust in his new man. It’s up to Morrison, then, to put in the performances and help his new club out in the hunt for a top-six spot.
