Sheffield United will be taking on a West Brom side with a new manager at the helm on Saturday, with Carlos Corberan set to take over.

The Baggies have been looking for a replacement for Steve Bruce as they currently sit in the bottom three. For many, it is a false position, given the talent in the squad. Bruce, as has been the case with his last few jobs, failed to extract the very best from the group.

However, West Brom look to have made their mind up and will appoint Corberan today. Formerly an assistant manager at Leeds, Corberan did well with Huddersfield before moving to Olympiakos in the summer. There, he lasted just 11 games, as he was sacked after just over a month in charge.

The Telegraph’s John Percy has taken to Twitter just now to confirm West Brom will appoint Corberan.

For the Blades, it means Albion might well have the new manager bounce as they look to keep United’s winless run going. Paul Heckingbottom’s side are now six without a win, after last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Norwich.

Sheff U News View: Just Another Game For United

West Brom’s fans will be buoyed by a new manager being in the dugout but it should make little difference for Sheffield United.

This is a game we have to be going and winning. Albion are only on 14 points from 16 games and on paper, it’s a game the Blades can and should win. Of course, the Championship doesn’t work like that as we know. But in terms of the games before the World Cup, this is one United can win.

Albion will fancy their chances of an upset and will hope Corberan can help lift them. For the Blades, it’s just a case of getting the job done and breaking that winless run.
