Twitter was sent into a bit of a frenzy earlier this afternoon as United’s cross-city rivals’ new boss, Tony Pulis, delivered his first presser.
Pulis has stepped into the cauldron of Hillsborough looking to claw the Owls away from relegation trouble and into mid-table obscurity in the Championship.
It will be quite the achievement for Pulis, given the miserable start Wednesday have suffered under Garry Monk and cementing a mid-table slot in the Championship is not to be sniffed at…
But it was Pulis’ comments on the club size that have got fans of both clubs talking today, with the new Owls boss claiming that Wednesday would be the biggest club in Sheffield…IF they were promoted.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Of course, it’s a big if from Pulis. Wednesday are nowhere near at the moment and his task is to simply steady the ship.
However, like the seasoned veteran he is, his comments lured in plenty of Blades fans on Twitter to bite at his comments. Most of who, in fairness, simply laughed off the statement.
Here’s now some Blades fans reacted on Twitter to Pulis’ efforts to stoke the fire once again in Sheffield.
That’s the thing. If. Well I’m afraid your if hasn’t won you anything. We are the biggest club in Sheffield

If I were him. I would be more concerned with being biggest club in league one.
