Talks are 'quite advanced' between Sheffield United and Amad Diallo - Journalist

Sheffield United are edging closer to doing a deal with Manchester United to sign Amad Diallo on loan, with talks ‘quite advanced’, according to Alex Crook.

Deal close?

Reports in the last week have suggested Diallo is a target for the Blades and their manager, Slavisa Jokanovic. He is believed to have been on the list for some time.

Diallo is being allowed out on loan by Manchester United. Despite paying £37m for him, the Red Devils feel he’ll benefit from regular football away from Old Trafford.

And in a further advancement on a potential deal, Talksport’s Crook has confirmed on Twitter that there is a ‘strong possibility’ Diallo comes to Sheffield.

The Blades’ 4-0 loss to West Brom last night highlighted a major need for new players. Ben Davies arrived last week, but Slavisa Jokanovic is known to want at least four more through the door.

With a deal for Ronaldo Vieira also now off the cards, the Blades will be expected to step up their pursuit of other targets quickly.

Perfect signing

Diallo is an exceptional talent who those at Old Trafford have high hopes for. He’s already impressed when he’s played, and even scored in the 1-1 draw with AC Milan last term.

For the Blades, you’d have to say he looks the ideal capture. Quick, tricky, direct, and ability to make things happen in wide areas, Diallo ticks a number of boxes.

With so many strikers and square pegs in round holes at the moment, it’s imperative Jokanovic gets the right personnel to suit whatever system he fancies playing.

Diallo fits the mold. He can play left, right, or even centrally if needed. It will be hats off to the board, then, if this deal can get over the line.
