Slavisa Jokanovic issues Blades rallying cry on Twitter

On the surface, Slavisa Jokanovic doesn’t strike you as the sort of man who is heavily invested in social media. But he’s taken to Twitter this afternoon to issue a mini rallying cry to Blades fans.

The Serbian is currently working with a reduced squad as a number of Sheffield United stars are on international duty. The likes of John Egan, Enda Stevens, and Robin Olsen are part of the group not currently at Shirecliffe.

Last weekend’s defeat at Blackburn Rovers left United heading into the break in a bad state. 18th in the Championship and with just five wins from 17 games, it’s safe to say things haven’t gone well for Jokanovic.

However, he has a proven record in this division. Jokanovic, then, will be hoping to put things right following the break. Indeed, it was after the first international break that the Blades hammered Peterborough 6-2.

And taking to Twitter, the Serbian has issued a mini rallying cry to Blades supporters and players.

Certainly, Jokanovic will be hoping his players heed the ‘go again’ message and take it onboard. Last week’s effort at Ewood Park was abysmal and much more of that will lead to pressure from the stands.

Jokanovic Needs Big Performances

It’s absolutely vital that United get some wins after this break. The Christmas period is so, so important. Slavisa Jokanovic has claimed the play-offs remain a target. But to get there, consistency and wins are needed.

It’s great to see him engaging with fans on Twitter. But it’s on the pitch where Blades fans will want to really see changes. Certain performances in recent weeks have been unacceptable, and Jokanovic knows it.

The next six games are all winnable for this Sheffield United squad. Of course, winning six in a row is difficult. But it has to be the aim.
