'All day long': Sky Sports pundit says Femi Seriki should have given a penalty away against Forest

Sheffield United conceded late on against Nottingham Forest as they drew 1-1 with the Reds thanks to Ryan Yates’ late header.

The Blades looked to be heading for all three points thanks to another goal from Billy Sharp. The Skipper headed home from Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross to put United on course for an unlikely three points. However, Yates levelled with the latest of goals to give Forest a deserved share of the spoils.

However, things could have been so different on the night really. Brennan Johnson had missed a penalty for Forest earlier on and according to Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff, the Reds should have been given another when Femi Seriki fouled Keinan Davis.

“There’s no doubt whatsoever that this was a penalty. The young boy making his debut, Seriki, it’s a blatant pull. He gets a lot of his shirt, I said earlier about a handful but it’s more than that. Listen, it’s a penalty all day long,” McAnuff said live on Sky Sports.

Seriki was making his full debut but was withdrawn near the end as he struggled at times with the pace of the game.

Our View: Seriki Was Lucky

If this was us we’d be shouting for it all day long. Seriki manhandled Davis to the ground and the referee should really have spotted it.

But, it wasn’t to be and just like any game in the Championship, you get some and some you don’t.
