It’s the big one at Bramall Lane today, as Sheffield United host Fulham looking to seal their spot in the playoff places.
A whole host of permutations are on offer when it comes to fifth and sixth place. However, in the most simple terms, a win for Sheffield United will see them finish in the top six, regardless of results elsewhere. Middlesbrough, Luton, and Millwall are the teams vying with the Blades for the last two spots.
For Paul Heckingbottom, it’s a case of getting his starting XI bang on. Fulham represent a huge attacking threat, and the Blades boss will be hoping for big performances from his key players.
Team News
There is no sign of a return for Billy Sharp yet. The boss explained this week how Sharp has had some injections to aid his recovery, but there is no chance of a return today.

One bit of good news is the return of George Baldock. The right-back has been in full training all week and could be in contention to replace Ben Osborn on the right.
Further up the pitch, Conor Hourihane and Morgan Gibbs-White have recovered from minor knocks and should both be fine. Gibbs-White, of course, is key to United’s attacking play. The in-form Iliman Ndiaye will lead the line once again.
Predicted Sheffield United XI v Fulham
Heckingbottom is hardly flush with options so there isn’t much room for lots of wiggle room. However, we do think that if Baldock is fully fit, then he will come in to bring balance down the right.
Ben Osborn has done very well in his absence but Baldock’s experience and defensive knowhow could be key against this Fulham side. Further, Osborn gives you options off the bench if we need them, given his versatility.
Here, then, is our predicted line-up, as Sheffield United take on Fulham today.
