Sheffield United are on the verge of signing both Ronaldo Vieira and Ben Davies, with Slavisa Jokanovic hoping to have both players registered for the trip to West Brom.
Jokanovic is in dire need of fresh faces at Bramall Lane. His side have failed to score in both their Championship outings this season, following Saturday’s blank against Swansea City.
Sky Sports report that Davies is undergoing a medical with United today and we understand the player has indeed arrived at Shirecliffe.
United are also hoping to announce the signing of Vieira at the same time it seems. The Sampdoria midfielder underwent his own medical at the weekend, and there has been no suggestion of any issues.

Providing both are registered in time, Vieira and Davies will likely go straight into the squad for the Hawthorns.
Reinforcements
For anyone who didn’t think it was needed in the summer, the opening fixtures have shown this squad very much needs fresh blood.
Vieira and Davies are both quality operators. Midfield is a clear area where we need energy, legs, and dynamism. While in defence, we all know that Jack O’Connell’s loss is felt massively.
A trip to West Brom is not the ideal next game either. But, with two new faces to be announced, spirits could be lifted at least.
Our View: Much needed players, and hopefully more
With a bit of luck, that will be the midfield and defence sorted for the short-term at least. Of course, another player in the middle wouldn’t go amiss, especially a creative one.
Now, though, United need more. We need something in the wide areas, where it be one or two players. Especially if Jokanovic is going to play as he did at Swansea.
Shoe-horning players into roles won’t work. Therefore, the board need to back the new boss with more new faces and press ahead with a run at promotion.
