Sheffield United think they can get a deal over the line for FC Hacken’s Benie Traore this week, according to reports this weekend.
Traore has emerged as a target for United as they look to bolster the attacking options at their disposal. The 20-year-old has scored 15 in 19 recently and looks set for a bright future.
And according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon today, the Blades feel they can get a deal done for Traore.
Nixon states that United hope to agree a £5m fee with the Swedish side before offering Traore £1m-a-year in wages to make the move to Bramall Lane.
Earlier in the week, noises coming from Hacken suggested they were open to doing a deal for Traore at the right price.
The Blades are being forced to look abroad in their pursuit of new players this time around. Paul Heckingbottom and his scouting team feel there’s value to be had in the European markets. As we know, United had huge success in signing Anel Ahmedhodzic last summer.

While little is known about Traore really, the fact United seem to be ready to pay a decent fee here will do wonders for fan confidence.
Of course, the big thing really is that Traore can contribute to the first XI. But for the supporters, who are worried about a lack of spending, this will feel like a big relief.
£5m is not a lot for most clubs but for the Blades it’s decent money. Clearly, homework has been done on Traore and it’s a deal United feel will benefit everyone.
With a bit of luck, this one gets done quickly and Heckingbottom can quickly move on to getting further names in the door.
