Sheffield United take Ryan Giggs' son Zach Giggs on trial

Sheffield United have taken the son of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs on trial, with a view to potentially signing the teenager.

According to The Daily Mail, Zach Giggs, 16, is currently on trial with the Blades ahead of a potential release from Manchester United in the summer.

The Mail reports how Giggs is set to be released by the Old Trafford club. They have decided not to offer him professional terms, despite the family legacy aspect of his name at the club.

Of course, Sheffield United cannot sign Giggs at the moment either due to their transfer embargo. But it is clear Paul Heckingbottom is keen on making sure the academy still gets top talent.

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Giggs, who plays predominantly as a left-back, has represented Wales up to under-15 level. However, he hasn’t done quite enough to impress at Old Trafford and will be on the lookout for a new club this summer.

The Mail claims that other clubs are also watching on, meaning Giggs is likely to get trials elsewhere as well.

Sheffield United News View: A big name for the future

We all know Ryan Giggs needs no introduction. So if there’s a chance that his offspring can be even half as good on the field as he was, then it’s worth looking at.

The Blades have a rich history of producing and nurturing young talents. Giggs is one the club have clearly had eyes on, and if he does well, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see United try and do a deal.
