Sheffield United are ready to sanction a £15m deal to see Iliman Ndiaye finally complete a move to Marseille.
Talk has been rife for weeks that Ndiaye would sign for the French club. Marseille are his boyhood club and there’s been talk of a move ever since he admitted his love for them.
And now, according to Alan Nixon, United are ready to finally wilt and cash in on Ndiaye ahead of the new season.
Writing on his Patreon, Nixon claims that talks over a new deal have broken down. The main factor is that a release-clause has not been agreed.

Ndiaye’s reps apparently want different clauses for both staying up and if United go down. So far, those terms haven’t been agreed and now a move away is edging closer.
Nixon claims Marseille are pushing hard to get the deal done in the next 24 hours and that Ndiaye’s inclusion in the pre-season friendly v Rotherham tonight could be telling.
Reports from France have constantly pushed on this in recent weeks. And while it’s been quiet locally, there is definite interest from Marseille.
United are expected to spend any money raised from the Ndiaye sale on trying to land an immediate replacement.
Sheffield United News View: Let’s all just move on, regardless
It’s becoming a bit tiresome all this. If Ndiaye wants to leave or is showing some inclination to wanting out, then United might as well let him go.
There’s no point having a player around who is not going to give 100% and if he’s told Hecky that he wants to go, then the best option is to negotiate an exit.
£15m being mentioned sounds low. But we’ve left ourselves open to these low bids due to his contract situation.
Most of us would love to see Ndiaye feature in the Premier League. But if he does leave, then so be it. We move on, just like we always have done and always will.
