Sheffield United owner, Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad, has potentially given away some of the club’s transfer plans.

The Blades boss is over in Dubai holding a series of meetings with manager Chris Wilder and his board. The Prince has been active on his social media account in sharing images of the event.

However, it looks like one of his images might have just given away a little bit too much detail.

What does the picture tell us?

Only the most eagle eyed fans might notice but a look at the flip-chart in the corner seems to give away some squad details.

In particular, there seems to be no mention of Billy Sharp. The initials in attacking areas seem to confirm Wilder is happy with current strikers Oli McBurnie, Callum Robinson, Lys Mousset, and David McGoldrick. There is no mention of the initials BS, which might indicate where Sharp’s future lies.

At the front of the image, it shows a piece of paper on the desk detailing formations. This is titled 2020/21, which suggests this is about forward planning for the club beyond this season.

Finally, looking back at the flip-chart, there seems to be some question marks in place. One, at centre-half, where it appears the club want back-up for John Egan. There’s also a number of double ticks against certain positions, which suggests Wilder is happy with his options (Ben Osborn and Enda Stevens at LWB, for example)

What this might mean?

In no way are we saying this definitely means this is the transfer strategy for the Blades. It might simply be a case of putting the team up on the board and talking through the main squad members.

It also doesn’t mean the end for Billy Sharp. He’s loved by Wilder and the fans. He also still has plenty to offer, both on and off the pitch.

On the other hand, the club will need to keep moving forward. Wilder has already spoken of having to make tough decisions, much like he did in the summer.

The Sheffield United owner sharing this, suggests that transfer plans are certainly afoot for the club for the immediate future.
