Among all the rumours this summer when it comes to Sheffield United, the latest report from France on Georges Mikautadze is possibly the most surprising.
Mikautadze, a 22-year-old Georgian international who currently plays for FC Metz, is being linked with a move to Bramall Lane this evening.
According to Le10 Sport, Sheffield United have come forward with a £15.5m bid for the impressive striker.

Mikautadze scored more than 20 goals last season for Metz in Ligue 2 and is seen as one of the standout players in France outside of the top tier.
According to Le10, United have put a bid in for Mikautadze and he is apparently open to the idea of a move to England. There is also interest from Italy, with the likes of Roma and Lazio keen.

As for the ‘bid’, it’s claimed Metz have turned their noses up at such an offer. For now, then, it seems like Mikautadze is going nowhere, never mind to Sheffield United.
Sheffield United News View: Jumping on the back of Ndiaye rumours
There’s little surprise to see this report coming from a French outlet, given we are the talk of their media right now thanks to Iliman Ndiaye.
Outlets like Le10 and Foot Mercato continue to push the agenda on Ndiaye moving to Marseille. And with that, it seems they’ve decided we’ll be using any money we get from that sale to sign Mikautadze.
Not that we dismissing this rumour entirely. Of course, things can change in football and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on our list.
However, we aren’t paying more than £15m for one player this summer. And even if Ndiaye does leave, it’s hard to see Hecky using the entire budget from that sale on one player.
