Sheffield United keen on signing Iliman Ndiaye's international teammate

Sheffield United are being linked with a move for Senegal international, Habib Diallo, after sealing promotion this week.

After seeing of West Brom at home to cement a return to the Premier League, work will now be getting underway in regards to transfer plans and contracts ahead of the summer.

United have as many as 12 out of contract, including key players such as Ollie Norwood. Of course, there is a hope that those contracts can be sorted out and alongside it, a number of new signings can be made.

And according to reports from France, Diallo is a player the Blades are looking at.

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Sheffield United keen on Habib Diallo

L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, reports how United and Burnley are looking at the possibility of signing Diallo. Currently at Strasbourg, Diallo has scored 17 times in Ligue 1 this season.

Of course, Blades fans will look at Diallo and notice the connection between him and current superstar, Iliman Ndiaye.

Diallo and Ndiaye are both involved with Senegal. The Blades, then, will hope that Ndiaye can give the 27-year-old a little nudge in the direction of Bramall Lane.

It’s reported Strasbourg will be looking for around £13m for Diallo if they do sell but could look to recoup closer to £20m if there is enough demand.

Sheffield United News View: Here we go, and it’s only been two days

The champagne is only just drying on the Bramall Lane pitch and yet here we are, being linked with new players already.

In fairness, the Blades are probably going to have to look at the French markets and more to get good value. Last time we went up, we overspent on players from England and it hasn’t served us too well.

Diallo is clearly a talent. But given the window isn’t even open yet and there’s still three games left to play, we can probably take this with a pinch of salt for now.

One to watch though. And exciting nonetheless to be linked with players held in such regard.
